CD Projekt’s first on-stage demo for The Witcher 3 showed grizzled hero Geralt taking on a griffon, but as E3 rolls on more footage from the game is emerging.
Both Gamespot and IGN have posted videos their time with The Witcher 3 show demo, and both videos show off different aspects of the game’s world.
Chronologically the IGN video comes first, with Geralt traveling into a medieval city environment and chatting with an accomplice. The resulting quest then sends our heroic witcher off to find a strange little creature called Johnny, who knows something about the location of the mysterious ”ashen-haired woman” he is tracking. Gamespot’s video features Johnny’s swampy home, and sees Geralt hacking undead ‘drowners’ (remember them from the second game?) into pieces.
Both the wilderness and city locations look beautiful. The game seems to do a great job of making its world come alive, with local civilians going to and fro on various tasks, beggars on street corners and drunk carousers in the tavern.
The Witcher 3 is due out February 24, 2015. Can’t come soon enough.
