Another day, another Kickstarter campaign startup, this time for action RPG Legends of Persia.
Alongside the announcement of their crowdfunding campaign, developers Sorena Game Studios also confirmed that the Persian themed hack-and-slash has been Greenlit by the Steam community.
The Kickstarter campaign has been started by Sorena in order to raise funds for non-English localisation of their game. Here's what the development team have to say.
Developing a video game always requires the cooperation of many people, so technical risks are unavoidable. However, since the development of Legends of Persia already completed more than two-thirds to date most of the risks both technical and related to the human factor - are behind. Of course, we understand that there is always a small risk of delays, but we promise to do our best and keep you informed.
Now, that we are approaching to the last phase of our game's development, we are trying very hard to localize Legend of Persia into FIGS to support non-English speaking fans. Therefore finding the right talent to translate and voice-act the game's English scripts into meaningful, fun, yet epic in FIGS could be challenging. And that is where we could definitely benefit from your kind support.
You can check out the preview video, which has some lovely art but no actual in-game footage, below. Should you choose to back Legends of Persia, you'll play as "Keykhosro, the son of the Persian prince Siavosh, who in the name of his father’s blood seeks to take revenge upon Afrasiab, the king of Tooran." I'm sure that will make more sense once you play the game.
Here's what Sorena are promising from the finished product, scheduled for released in June 2014.
With more than 8hours of single-player action, 5 attractive locations to explore and more than200 weapons and items to use, ‘Legends Of Persia’ is packed full of features! The game will also include 18 unique types of magic, 3 different hero characters, fully customizable, and more than30 unique challenging enemies.
