Valve and HTC's Vive VR headset was originally set to be released in late 2015, then it moved to Q1 2016, and now HTC has confirmed that it will be released in April 2016.
In a statement issued on the official blog, HTC claimed that it was making efforts to “clear up speculation and misinformation surrounding the launch of HTC Vive.”
There will be 7,000 additional units made available to developers early next year, before the release of the commercial unit in April 2016.
With the Oculus Rift expected to be released next year, and now the HTC's Vive VR as well, 2016 is looking like it's going to be the year of VR, but will it catch on with consumers? We'll have to wait and see.
