As promised two weeks ago, the major 3.1 update to the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, dubbed “As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness” by Square Enix, is now live.
The biggest addition to the game is the RTS mode Lord of Verminion, where players can battle other players in a one on one setting using their minions in a real-time strategy game. The time limit is 10 minutes, and matches are won by destroying the other player’s Arcana Stone before time runs out.
The patch also features The Diadem, a new group of islands for airship exploration, two new high-level dungeons, including Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum and Pharos Sirius, a new Void Ark 24-player alliance raid, Vanu Vanu beast tribe quests, more side story quests and more.
