Argi the blue goat pet for World of Warcraft has accumulated over $1.9 million to help Ebola relief efforts in Africa by the Red Cross. Blizzard announced back in December that all the ‘adoption fee’ for Argi would be donated.
They’re proud the community ”embraced this cute little intergalactic nibbler,” and for collectively making a big difference to the relief efforts. The Internet has one weakness; cute blue space goats.
The drive was for every little Argi that was purchased by December 31st for $10. The pet was also made available to every race in spirit of the Ebola relief effort.
”Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of World of Warcraft players around the world who purchased the Argi pet, we’ve raised a total of more than 1.9 million USD to support the ongoing Ebola relief efforts in Africa by the Red Cross,” they blogged.
”In December, we announced that for every Argi purchased by December 31, 2014, 100% of the adoption fee would be going to assist in aiding in the fight against this deadly disease – and the community embraced this cute little intergalactic nibbler, helping out a great cause in the process. Thanks again to everyone who helped make a difference.”
Argi is still available to buy, making them available to all your future World of Warcraft characters.
