Kingdom started out life as a very interesting little side-scrolling, in which you played a king who spent his time wandering across his lands, ordering peasants around and trying not to get eaten by troll-monsters.
Publisher Raw Fury has picked up the game and helped developers Noio and Licorice turn it into a fully-featured experience, and it's almost ready to launch - the final release datefor October 21.
Among the additions in the full version are more complex and deep strategy and kingdom-building elements, the ability to play as a queen, and even more lovely pixel art environments to explore. I'm intrigued to see how the developers have expanded on the original concept.
You can pre-purchase Kingdomfor £6.99, which will net you the original soundtrack as a bonus.
