Mass Effect Andromeda won’t star any major players from the three previous games in the sci-fi franchise, Bioware’s senior development director Chris Wynn confirmed over Twitter.
Wynn says that cameo appearances ”wouldn’t make much sense, story-wise”, considering that the upcoming game will be set light-years away, in a brand new galaxy.
That’s not to say the new game will ditch everything that Bioware’s spent the last decade establishing; Wynn confirmed that combat would remain similar to the system found in Mass Effect 3, albeit with a bunch of new mechanics and tricks. ”There are some new elements that make it more dynamic, but overall similar feel,” he wrote.
