Patch 10 is now live for Creative Assembly’s free-to-play strategy game Total War: Arena, bringing with it both gameplay changes and tweaks to the game’s UI.
The major addition is soft collision between hostile units, which aims to make it harder to drag your soldiers through an enemy unit - you won’t be able to escape battles quite so easily. It also makes timing and aiming your cavalry and infantry charges far more important, as they can easily get bogged down.
A ‘Decap’ reward has also been added, and is awarded when a player stops a unit capturing their base. Should encourage a slightly more defensive attitude among players, rather than having everyone charge off for the kill. You can see CA running through the major patch changes in the video below.
