I love mind flayers. These guys are iconic D&D monsters that aren’t simply stolen straight from the pages of a Tolkein novel – they’re unique, they look awesome, and they’d send Sauron scampering away in terror.
Basically they’re psionic masterminds with the added ability to suck your brains out through your nostrils using their horrific face tentacles. What’s not to like? A trailer from Sword Coast Legends’ joint developers N-Space and Digital Extremes shows us what to expect from them in the upcoming RPG.
DM players will enjoy chucking in one of these abominations to confuse, stun and otherwise mess with the heroes, while the heroes themselves… probably won’t enjoy fighting them much at all.
Sword Coast Legends is out this September. It still looks a little wonky, but I’m hoping its a fun fantasy romp with some cool multiplayer dungeoneering.ad
