John Smedley [url=http://www.gamewatcher.com/news/2015-23-07-john-smedley-has-left-his-position-as-president-of-daybreak-game-company
]resigned[/url] from his position as president of Daybreak Game Company last month, after a difficult period in which he and his family were targeted and harassed by hacker groups. The final straw appeared to be a major DDoS attack on Daybreak’s game servers, including those for Planetside 2 and H1Z1.
Originally it was though Smedley would return to the company in a new role after a short break, but Daybreak has now confirmed that this isn’t the case.
“On behalf of Daybreak, we wish Smed well in his new endeavors,” a representative told Game Informer via email. “Any questions regarding his new business should be directed to him.”
A post from last week on Smedley’s Facebook page reveals that he will indeed be taking on the role of CEO at a new company, but details aside from that are thin on the ground right now. According to Game Informer, Smedley will reveal all in the next few weeks.
