The Killer Instinct World Cup recently went down alongside PAX South in Texas, and with it, Iron Galaxy revealed details around the free-to-play fighter’s upcoming Season 3, due out in March for PC and Xbox One.
The balance changes--which you can find over at fighting fansite Shoryuken--are way over my head, but I can tell you that the new character revealed this weekend, Kim Wu, has dope nunchucks and an even doper spirit dragon tagging along. Kim originally appeared in Killer Instinct 2.
A short teaser also revealed that Halo’s Arbiter would be joining the cast as a guest character, which is surprising only in that he’s getting added before Master Chief. Arbiter will be the second guest character, following Battletoad Rash, and will hopefully once again be voiced by Keith David’s deep, soothing tones.
And, most significantly, Season 3 will mark the game’s PC debut. The Microsoft Studios-published game was formerly exclusive to Xbox One, but will finally be available for computers in March 2016--assuming, of course, that you’ve broken down and upgraded to Windows 10. (My upgrade was painless, I swear!)
If you wanna see some of KI in action, or just want to check out a high-level fighting game tournament, you can check out the World Cup results on Shoryuken.
