When you think about the history of Omega Force and their Warriors titles and the brutal free-for-all nature of combat in the Berserk anime and manga, it seems like a match made in heaven. Luckily, it’s coming our way soon. Omega Force has been working on their latest adaptation of anime to video game entertainment for some time now and just recently announced that Berserk and the Band of the Hawk finally has a date for western release.
Berserk and the Band of the Hawk will start begin during the arc where the protagonist Guts meets Griffith and and is forced into his service. Omega Force has stated that the game will go all the way through to the Falcon of the Millennium Empire arc, meaning some very unfortunate and brutal events and betrayals are in going to be covered in the game. Guts, Griffith, Casca, and Judeau of the Band have been confirmed playable, as well as the witch-in-training Shierke and Farnese’s passive second-in-command Serpico.
Even well beyond that of Omega Force’s recently released Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom, Berserk and the Band of the Hawk will easily be the bloodiest game the studio has handled. Players will battle it out against both humans and the terrifyingly ruthless demons the series is known for as they journey through the events of the series following its iconic characters.
Berserk and the Band of the Hawk’s western release will come to both the PlayStation 4 and the PC via Steam. The Steam page has not opened yet, but the game is slated for release on 24 February, 2017. A new trailer has been released alongside this announcement and can be seen below showcasing the grand extent of violence and story the game intends to cover.
