December is a time for giving. The time-honored tradition of giving gifts to your loved ones over the festive period whether you have the cash for it or not. So when a published with more money in the bank than you could ever hope to have decides to give you something for every day of the month, it feels alright. Though Ubisoft have been giving away free games for most of the year already, they're dishing out some more - and a few other things - leading up to Christmas.
Continuing the Ubi 30 anniversary celebrations, they've stretched the closing leg of the year to a '30 Days of Giveaways' event. If you head on over the the '30 Days' website, you'll be able to open a door on their advent calendar leading to December 25th.
Of course, you can't expect it to be 30 days of game giveaways. They don't really want to hand over a fraction of their catalog after such a generous year already. And while some of the free games on offer mimic those given away by the company over the last few months, there's a few hidden gems there, too.
Black Friday sales stretch to Rainbow Six: Siege - and it's getting a pretty big update (and second season) very soon
How do we know? Well, they forgot to strip the names of the gifts out of the website's source code when it went live yesterday. Though they quickly removed the offended lines of text, there's still a Twitter post showing the evidence. Whether Ubisoft will tweak some of the goodies to keep the element of surprise isn't known, but it would be nice.
And for the record, the vast majority of the games being given away will be PC titles through the uPlay client. There's a mobile game or two for those looking for handheld goods. Start opening some doors!
