Play with your blood in Vermila Studios’ twisted version of Spain as Blumhouse Games-published Crisol: Theater of Idols debuts on PC and consoles.
The first-person survival horror game is inspired by titles such as Bioshock and features an intriguing mechanic that allows the protagonist, Gabriel, to use his own blood as a weapon.
Crisol: Theater of Idols Unleashes Holy Hell
Set on the cursed island of Tormentosa (they were asking for trouble naming it that), soldier Gabriel must survive the historically inspired monstrosities by using his blood as ammunition against them.
But of course, Gabriel only has so much blood to give, so balancing life and death gets messy. There are upgrades for Gabriel’s powers to offset some of that and help him wield greater weapons of death-dealing destruction.
While the story is set in a fictionalized, supernatural Spain, it’s rooted in real-life events, folklore, and religion.
Crisol: Theater of Idols is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
