Despite it being built on a slightly modified version of Unreal Engine 3, Borderlands 2 never did receive the amount of mods that some thought it would have, or perhaps even should have received.
Thankfully, not only is the base game fairly lengthy and fleshed-out, with lots of content no matter where you look, but it also received an impressive amount of post-release content, be it bite-sized DLCs or fully-fledged expansion packs. Regardless, any given game can be improved given a little elbow grease from the community. This is where the Borderlands 2 Unofficial Community Patch jumps in.
Borderlands 2 Community Patch Prerequisites
To use this community-made patch, which comes into its own only once you've already hit your second or third playthrough, and once you've started edging your way into the endgame, you will need to have purchased a number of DLCs for the game. These are the following:
- Premiere Club: Mechromancer Pack
- Psycho and Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack
- Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty
- Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
- Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt
- Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
- Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge
</ul>
If you have all of these, you're ready to apply the update, which you can download at the mod's Nexus page. There you will also find the entire changelog, while a more space and attention-conscious list of changes is listed down below.
Borderlands 2 Community Patch Changes
- Bug Fixes
- Cosmetic Changes
- Unique Features
- Gear Changes
- Skill Changes
- Loot Pool & Drop Changes
- Quest Changes
- Enemy Changes
</ul>
Again, you will get the most out of this community update if you've already reached endgame, as it buffs and rebalances the majority of weapons, so as to make maxed-out enemies a bit less bullet-spongy, among other things.
