Publisher Kalypso Media and developer Claymore Game Studios are gearing up for the release of Commandos: Origins - Shadows Over Crete, the first post-launch DLC for their real-time tactics game set in World War II.
Taking place in the aftermath of Operation Mercury, the first mainly large-scale airborne invasion in military history, its fresh 4-mission campaign puts its protagonists behind enemy lines, tasking them with using their complementary abilities to dismantle the German war machine yet again.
Commandos: Origins - Shadows Over Crete DLC Releases This November
The DLC sees the Green Beret, Sapper, Sniper, Driver, Marine, and Spy lending their skills to helping the Cretan resistance, led by the fierce and loyal Eleni Andris, by sabotaging and spying on the German occupiers.
Shadow Over Crete’s “beautiful coastlines and scenic buildings” strive for authenticity, giving us the chance to explore a former paradise that’s now marked by the scars of the Germans’ swift incursion.
Furthermore, Commandos: Origins - Shadows Over Crete also introduces the “ever-vigilant” German paratrooper units, which “act as quick-response teams and will aid your enemies when reinforcements are necessary.” These new foes promise to put our tactical knowledge to the test.
Commandos: Origins - Shadows Over Crete is slated to release on November 18, 2025. It currently only has store pages on PC, through both Steam and the Epic Games Store, alongside Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
We also expect it to launch on PS5 and PS4, given how the base game is available on Sony’s consoles. Its price hasn’t been officially revealed, but we should learn more in the lead-up to launch.
