Directive 8020’s characters and cast play a central role in Supermassive Games’ upcoming cinematic sci-fi horror adventure. Revolving around the crew of a colony ship setting off in search of a new home, they find themselves in trouble as soon as their ship crash lands upon reaching their destination.
Hunted by an alien organism capable of taking on the appearance of its prey, Directive 8020’s characters face growing fear and paranoia as they try to find solutions for their predicament. As players, we directly control five crew members, deciding their fates as well as those of the others on board and back home.
Directive 8020 Character and Cast
Directive 8020’s central characters have been gradually revealed in the lead-up to its launch in late 2025, but its cast largely remains a mystery as of May.
We know that actress Lashana Lynch (The Woman King, Bob Marley: One Love) voices Brianna Young, a character described as a “ground-breaking astronaut” by publisher Supermassive Games.
Over on The Dark Pictures website, a series of blogs introduces other Directive 8020 characters, albeit without mentioning the actors behind them.
- Lashana Lynch - Brianna Young
- TBA - Laura Eisele
- TBA - Nolan Stafford
- TBA - Dr. Samantha Cooper
- TBA - Josef Cernan
Laura Eisele, the lead designer of the mission and architect of the Cassiopeia, brings invaluable understanding of machines and theorems but comes off as cold when interacting with the rest of the crew.
Nolan Stafford is both the commander of the mission and a veteran explorer known for being the first man on Mars. He looks out for the whole crew, but keeps a close eye on Brianna, his closest friend’s daughter.
Dr. Samantha Cooper’s medical experience is bound to come in handy, as Directive 8020’s characters and cast inevitably face the alien hunting them.
Josef Cernan’s understanding of how hardware and people work complements the abilities of the rest of the crew.
More details about Directive 8020’s characters and cast will likely be shared as we approach its October launch.
