FunPlus International takes on Asimov’s Foundation universe in base-building PvP MMO Foundation: Galactic Frontier, which comes to Steam this month.
The MMO, which originally released on mobile last year, takes place in the same series that spanned multiple novels and the 2021 Apple TV show Foundation starring Jared Harris and Lee Pace.
Foundation: Galactic Frontier Makes the Voyage to PC
Players will take on the role of an interstellar trader/bounty hunter/political strategist navigating between the Empire, Foundation, other factions, and rebels, uncovering the secrets of Seldon’s Plan and confronting the mysterious enemy, the Mule.
There’s the promise of a Mothership simulation to build your very own spaceship complete with life-giving supplies and a full crew.
Speaking of which, there will be recruitable ‘Hero’ crew members to discover, with plenty of unique abilities and traits to help you out in battle.
The game mixes RTS, MMO, and TPS combat in an effort to build a multifaceted online world to get lost in. However, given its mobile roots, don’t go expecting anything too complex from Foundation: Galactic Frontier.
Foundation: Galactic Frontier is due to release on PC via Steam in January 2026. So any day now, really. You can also play it on mobile right now.
