Frostpunk’s Endless Mode DLC is now available for free for all owners of 11 bit studios’ unforgiving city builder. Initially intended to cater to those seeking an additional challenge, the mode has grown to include difficulties for both casual and hardcore players. This is also why it took a bit longer to release.
Aimed at those looking for less pressure when building their frozen post-apocalypse cities, Serenity difficulty offers milder weather and more resources to work with.
Conversely, the Endurance difficulty is where the original vision behind Endless mode can be found. It not only provides a tougher challenge but also adds randomized events which can shut down entire sections of your city.
Frostpunk’s Endless Mode is playable on four maps, allowing players to customize their experience similar to how they do in regular scenarios. Snowstorms will periodically roll in across the frostlands – the area outside of your city – covering explored areas and revealing new ones, so as to keep the experience fresh. Lastly, the game’s new Archives mechanic introduces new pieces of lore about Frostpunk’s world.
