After teasing it last week, a Halo: ODST and Helldivers 2 crossover has officially been confirmed for launch with the Xbox version of the popular multiplayer shooter.
The Helldivers 2 X Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond is due for release on August 26 and will cost 1500 Super Credits. It includes three new primary weapons, one new secondary weapon, four new patterns, one new armor passive, two new player banners, two new capes, a new player title, and two new armor sets, all of which are based on the aesthetic and world of Halo: ODST.
Halo 3: ODST was a 2009 spin-off of Halo 3, which was actually the fifth game in the series overall (don’t ask). It’s all about a more disposable set of soldiers than Master Chief - soldiers who could die, and who could be used for emotional beats that Master Chief just couldn’t. It’s beloved by Halo fans, so this is extremely exciting news for fans of the series.
What’s also fascinating is that this is the first Halo content on PlayStation platforms, with the exception of a Fortnite skin. Previously, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been rumored for release on other platforms for years now, but nothing has surfaced. No doubt that this release will add fuel to the fire, however.
