The League of Legends friends list error has been recently popping up again, stopping players from entering matches alongside their friends.
But what's the cause of the League of Legends friends list error and is there a fix for it? We've got answers.
League of Legends Friends List Error
The League of Legends friends list error can either make you unable to see your friends list and connect to the chat server or it can show your friends list as nearly entirely empty, with profile pictures blacked out.
Not only does the League of Legends friends list error stop you from sending out invites to friends, but it also stops you from accepting invites from friends who see you on their friends list. It can be rather frustrating.
From what we can tell, the League of Legends friends list error is caused by a bug on Riot's side. They acknowledged the issue as recently as January 16 with the following message "We are aware of the current issue with the Social Panel not appearing in client. We are working on the issue and should have it resolved shortly."
Players have, however, found a potential fix for the League of Legends friends list error. It involves going into your Riot Games folder and deleting the Riot Client folder.
Then, open the League of Legends folder and start the League client. It should perform an update after which you can log in and access your friends list.
