Pioneers of Pagonia, the city-builder from Envision Entertainment and The Settlers creator Volker Wertich will leave early access this December, almost two entire years after entering it.
The announcement was made during Gamescom 2025, and was accompanied by a new story trailer alongside a set of details regarding the title’s story campaign.
Pioneers of Pagonia 1.0 Release Date
Pioneers of Pagonia’s 1.0 version is slated to release on December 11, 2025, when its story campaign will also be made available to present and future owners.
Spanning roughly 30 hours, it will be playable either solo or in shared co-op, supporting up to four players. It follows the brave pioneers as they face the catastrophe that has befallen the world of Pagonia.
Not only is the medieval continent “shattered into thousands of islands,” but a thick fog also covers the land while Scavs, werewolves, ghosts, and the Malthorns make it dangerous to explore.
It’s up to us to lift the fog, build, grow, and maintain cities, defeat enemy leaders, and reunite the Pagonians.
German fantasy author Janika Hoffmann provided support in the development of Pioneers of Pagonia’s campaign, designing the story idea and dialogues in close collaboration with the team at Envision Entertainment.
Before Pioneers of Pagonia leaves early access, a public beta for its map editor will go live, giving players to tinker with the flexible tool.
If you’d rather not wait until Pioneers of Pagonia’s 1.0 version goes live on December 11, 2025, you’ll find it currently discounted by 25%.
