What games are available this month on PlayStation Plus Essential? Here we’ll be collecting the latest news and info on the video games Sony is giving to subscribers of the basic PS Plus tier each month.
Even though the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus give subscribers access to bigger, rotating libraries of PS4 and PS5 games, as well as older classics, many gamers feel like the best bang-for-the-buck continues to be the Essential option, which also lets players use PlayStation Network’s full online infrastructure. We must also underline how monthly games on that tier which are claimed before they rotate out will be accessible forever as long as you’re subscribed and even if you drop out and later come back.

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games List - December 2025
This month, “to start the holiday celebrations early,” Sony is giving away five games instead of the usual three, and they aren’t small ones if you ask us:
- LEGO Horizon Adventures
- Killing Floor 3
- The Outlast Trials
- SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada
- Neon White
LEGO Horizon Adventures
Barely a year after its launch across more several platforms, the collaboration between PlayStation’s Guerrilla Games and Lego is hitting PlayStation Plus, and while the reception was mixed, we’re fans of family-friendly games that know exactly what they want to achieve.
LEGO Horizon Adventures is also an especially good-looking video game despite its cartoony and faithful art style that we thought we had figured out after so many Lego titles. On PS5, few releases are as sharp and shiny as this one, and ahead of the Christmas holidays, a relaxed co-op experience like this one looks quite attractive.
Killing Floor 3
Killing Floor 3 might be the complete opposite: It’s fast, bloody, and chaotic. It’s launch earlier this year wasn’t everything fans hoped for, but considering Tripwire’s past efforts with this series, chances are its future will be looking brighter.
Regardless, fans of co-op shooters should find plenty to enjoy in this one, and with a content roadmap that currently extends well into 2026, it’s bound to evolve into something bigger and far meaner in the coming months.
The Outlast Trials
The Outlast Trials is a mid-sized co-op horror game that’s flown under way too many radars if you ask us. We’ve found it to be one of the most unique online co-op experiences of the last few years, and after the substantial content updates and a live-service model that doesn’t feel too overbearing or restrictive, it’s become a must-play for anyone brave enough.
This one’s available for PS4 players too, but you’ll want to play the PS5 version to get the sharper image and smoother framerates, which may mark the difference between escaping or dying when a relentless killer is chasing you and you’re feeling totally lost.
SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada
SYNDUALITY is an interesting take on the extraction shooter genre, one full of mechs, aliens, and fresh systems. It takes players to the year 2222, “years after a mysterious poisonous rain called The Tears of the New Moon wiped out most of humanity and birthed deformed creatures,” yet its colorful tone surprised us.
Its main problem is that it’s very much a PvPvE online game that failed to grow its community into one big enough to make the long-term plans appealing. A lot of what it offers could’ve worked just fine as regular PvE or even as a single-player experience, but that’s not the case. We’re just hoping showing up in PS Plus’ monthly offerings helps it get a much-needed boost.
Neon White
Neon White is one of the coolest and most unique games of 2022 that not enough people played, and we’re hoping this appearance in PS Plus helps it find new fans, especially as it’s hitting PS4 subs too.
A delightful mix of frenetic FPS action and speedrunning-oriented platforming, Neon White also takes time to slow down and introduce an enchanting cast of characters and zany lore that makes Hell and Heaven feel fresh and stylish in surprising ways. We don’t want to spoil more here, but anyone looking for an indie game that’s unlike anything else shouldn’t skip this one.
