Push Your Family is a physics-based party game with a surprisingly clear and descriptive title that you can now find in Steam Early Access. Published and developed by Meteor Mug, it revolves around the loving act of shoving digital relatives around and getting them squished under wacky theme park rides.
Tigers and “waves of vengeful pinguïns” are also methods of making sure you’re the last family member alive, which earns you the winner spot and possibly some dodgy looks from anyone passing by. Push Your Family supports up to 4 players in both its local and online modes and sticks with a simple but intuitive control scheme, making it easy to pick up.
The game enters Steam Early Access with two modes, Battle and Quarantine, alongside 8 distinct family members to pick from as you push your way across 8 different maps. The former is a more traditional last man standing mode, while Quarantine tasks you with disinfecting yourself and escaping your home.
Push Your Family’s Steam page also mentions a Capture the Flag mode coming at a later stage, while emphasizing that despite its simple controls, “pro gamers can jump further, kick people, or even impress others with a backflip!”
The developer aims to keep the game in Early Access between six months to a year, as it fleshes out its content offering. Those who decide to sample its brand of slapstick comedy during launch week benefit from a 20% discount, which brings down its asking price to 9,99€/11.99$ or your regional equivalent.
