A recent Rainbow Six Siege hotfix makes it so that PC players can now only join private lobbies is a friend of theirs is already inside.
Publisher and developer Ubisoft has pushed this Rainbow Six Siege hotfix to live servers after an exploit was discovered allowing players to join private lobbies uninvited. The lack of an option to kick them made this issue worse.
“To fix an exploit where players could join lobbies uninvited, we have released a hotfix that will require PC players to have at least one friend already in the squad,” reads a tweet from the official Rainbow Six Siege account.
“To clarify, now players can only join games in which they have a friend already in that squad (whether it be the squad host, or someone else already in that party).”
Having unwanted strangers invade your private matches was frustrating enough but, thankfully, it should no longer be a problem. Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Neon Dawn is currently underway and set to conclude the first-person shooter’s fifth year.
