Roccat has released the latest in a long line of premium mechanical keyboards, with the Vulcan II Max. This new keyboard will set you back $229.99/£199.99/€229.99 (depending on your region), but has some high-end features to go with the price tag, including one the manufacturer claims is a world-first.
Featuring the ultra-fast Titan II optical-mechanical switches, Roccat says these will endure up to a 100 million click life cycle. It also has Dual-LED Smart Switches, which means there’s a second LED light that indicates the secondary key functionality. To match this, there’s 4GB of onboard memory to allow for as many as four custom profiles for the keyboard lighting which can all be saved directly to the keyboard itself, rather than requiring software to alter it, should you take the Vulcan II Max on the go.

René Korte, Roccat Founder and General Manager of PC Peripherals at Turtle Beach said:
“Our new Max products offer PC gamers the ultimate in Roccat design, performance, and aesthetics, and the Vulcan II Max delivers on all fronts. From our super-fast Titan II Optical Switches to the sleek design and stylish RGB-illuminated wrist rest, the Vulcan II Max is the fastest, most beautiful keyboard we’ve created yet.”
Roccat also says that the Vulcan II Max includes other elements from previously popular keyboards, such as the aluminium plate to add durability, and media controls which (for example) allow you to change the volume of any media playing from the comfort of your keyboard. There are 24 multi-function keys in total, and the RGB setup can be used in conjunction with other products like the Syn Max Air headset, and Kone XP Air mouse, if you want to go for that immersive lighting display look.
