Saros’ release date takes us to the shape-shifting world of Carcosa in the next highly-anticipated action roguelite romp from developer Housemarque. Sparing no shortage of horror undertones, it promises a challenging, memorable journey during which we face a plethora of twisted foes.

Saros Release Date
Sony and Housemarque have now confirmed that Saros’ release date is set to occur on April 30, 2026.

Saros Gameplay
Saros inhabits a similar space to Returnal, developer Housemarque’s previous effort, although it comes with “a key gameplay distinction” in the shape of “permanent resources and progression making every death valuable.”
Although the world shifts every time we die, Saros allows us to permanently upgrade our loadout from “an evolving set of weapons and suit upgrades” that should gradually allow us to push further into Carcosa.
We’ll traverse a variety of alien environments, discovering the secrets of lost civilizations while dealing with several types of foes in intense, bullet hell-inspired third-person combat.
Protagonist Arjun’s suit relies on advanced technology to enable dashing, melee attacks, jumping, and other abilities to complement the weaponry that acts as our main tool of dispatching foes.
At the start of each run, we pick a loadout from a mixture of human and alien weaponry, each with its own distinct pattern.
Experimenting with different weapons is key to pushing forward, but we’ll also have abilities like the Soltari shield, which protects against incoming projectiles by absorbing their energy and allowing us to harness it for a powerful attack.
According to the developer, “Power Weapons transform Arjun’s right arm into an eclipse-fuelled weapon, corrupting him in the process. This gives him an alternate, and customizable, way to deal devastating damage to hostiles.”
Saros Story
Saros’ story follows protagonist Arjun Devraj, “a powerful Soltari Enforcer who will stop at nothing to find who he is looking for” on Carcosa.
The title relies on a mixture of “grounded voice-over, stunning cinematics, haunting audio logs, and conversations with [its] ensemble cast of NPCs” to help us piece together the colony’s puzzle.

Saros System Requirements
Since it is a PS5 exclusive, Saros does not have detailed system requirements. It will run on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro, with the latter likely able to run it more smoothly without sacrificing visual quality.
