The Steam sale list for 2026 promises a fairly packed year as far as opportunities to buy games at hefty discounts go, which bodes particularly well for our wallets. The dominating PC storefront’s sales have, over the years, shaped when and how many of us buy games, which is why keeping track of when they’re about to kick off is a great way of securing that title we’ve been aching to play for a considerably lower price.
Whether we’re talking one of the storefront’s larger seasonal events or those smaller fests dedicated to a specific theme or genre, there’s a good chance that our already brimming backlogs will get at least a few more additions as the months roll on.
Steam Sale List for 2026
The Steam Sale list for 2026 kicks off in January with the Steam Detective Fest, giving us relatively little respite after the conclusion of its massive Winter Sale, which ran until the beginning of the month.
Several other similar events as well as bigger sales are set to go live throughout the remainder of the year, and the storefront has given us a look at what we can expect over the course of its first five months in a dedicated blog post:
January 2026:
- Detective Fest: January 12 - January 19
- Board Game Fest: January 26 - February 2

- PvP Fest: February 9 - February 16
- Horse Fest: February 19 - February 23 (Spotlight Fest)
- Steam Next Fest - February 2026 Edition: February 23 - March 2
March 2026:
- Tower Defense Fest: March 9 - March 16
- Steam Spring Sale 2026: March 19 - March 26
- House & Home Fest: March 30 - April 6
April 2026:
- Hidden Object Fest: April 9 - April 13 (Spotlight Fest)
- Medieval Fest: April 20 - April 27
May 2026:
- Deckbuilders Fest: May 4 - May 11
- Ocean Fest: May 18 - May 25
June 2026:
- Steam Summer Sale
December 2026
- Steam Winter Sale
Although the schedule for the second half of the year remains under wraps for the moment, we expect 2026’s Steam Summer Sale to kick off in late June, while the Steam Winter Sale 2026 will neatly wrap up the year in December, running until January 2027.
Alongside hefty discounts for titles new and old, the larger 2026 Steam Sales could include minigames alongside opportunities to obtain special trading card sets and new cosmetic items to purchase in the storefront’s Points Shop.
While major events like the Winter Sales have remained largely untouched, Valve has occasionally altered its schedule, more recently dropping its Lunar New Year Sale in favor of the returning Spring Sale. It will be interesting to see if the Steam Sale list for 2026 comes with other significant changes.
