Thunderful Games will share details about the future of the SteamWorld series in a broadcast scheduled for next week.
On Monday, January 23, Thunderful Group Co-Founder Brjann Sigurgeirsson will reveal where the series is headed next as part of the SteamWorld Telegraph: Special Broadcast, which goes live at 9:30 AM PST/5:30 PM GMT/6:30 PM CET.
The announcement didn’t include a link to where we can watch the whole thing, although one will supposedly be shared on the official SteamWorld Twitter at a later date.
Developed by Image & Form Games, the series has explored a variety of different genres ranging from metroidvania to turn-based strategy and roleplaying card game.
All of the previous entries were 2D games, the last of which came out in 2019. Although the series has been mostly missing in action since, the publisher previously unveiled SteamWorld Headhunter in 2021 as an upcoming third-person co-op action-adventure title.
It’s unclear whether next Monday’s event will focus on SteamWorld Headhunter or reveal a new project in the series, but any news is welcome at this point.
