Transport Fever 3’s release date marks a significant step in Urban Games’ simulation series, which is now preparing to infuse a hearty dose of simulation into the process of building and managing sprawling transport empires.
The self-published threequel builds on the tycoon gameplay of its predecessors while dialing up the immersion thanks to a world that dynamically reacts to our actions and decisions. New additions like a sub-arctic biome and helicopters also help make the world resemble our own a bit more.

Transport Fever 3 Gameplay
Gameplay-wise, Transport Fever 3 continues to revolve around designing, building, and managing transport empires across four biomes—temperate, desert, tropical, and sub-arctic—each bringing its own set of challenges.
The threequel adds helicopters to its collection of more than 250 vehicles, including trains, buses, trucks, ships, and more.
Its dynamic, fully-simulated world sees settlements and industries evolving in response to our actions and decisions. As the developer puts it, “every town can grow into a sprawling city, every supply line can affect reputation, and every decision affects how people live, work, and move.”
Promising “a full suite of difficulty customization options,” Transport Fever 3 also asks us to manage noise and pollution levels, traffic congestion and wait times, while ensuring that cargo and passenger deliveries arrive on time at their destination.
Tycoon mode benefits from additional depth and an extended learning curve that allows new players to more easily lay the foundations of their trade empire, while giving veterans plenty to keep an eye on. There’s also a new Contracts feature that “supports players early on and challenges them later, balancing tempting rewards with potential risk.”
In addition, Transport Fever 3’s campaign mode offers multiple scenarios based on real-world history, while its sandbox mode allows us to be creative.
Elements like a day-night cycle and offshore industries further add to the title’s immersion and depth, while cross-platform modding support will likely contribute to both the game’s longevity and replayability.
