Warner Bros. Games and HBO have jointly announced a new free-to-play mobile strategy title called Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, which is based on the more recent ‘House of the Dragon’ hit HBO series. The game is developed by Warner Bros. Games Boston, and we take the role of a Valyrian descendant charged with hatching, raising, and flying dragons.
It’s described as an “approachable social strategy experience where tactical warfare, territorial expansion, and the unrivaled power of dragons combine to redefine how players battle for control of the Seven Kingdoms.” It will feature all-new original characters as players take part in tactical battles across Westeros, while forging both alliances and factions with other players.
Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is a 4X Strategy Mobile Game, with no word on a PC release
We’ll be hatching, growing, and training our dragons in Strongholds where you can “customize, build, upgrade, and train.” These are the player’s own cities and feature their Throne Room, Barracks, and Dragon Pit. Dragons will be assigned a Star Rank, which determines how large they can grow, as well as a Reign Level that dictates how big an army can attach to them. Dragon Relics can hatch new dragons or improve an existing one’s Star Rank.
Pre-registrations have opened across the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the official main website. Those who do pre-register can earn “exclusive rewards at launch including in-game currency and a rare dragon.” Specifically the rewards are 100 Gold, 6 Banner Maker Sigils, 1,000 Runic Fragments, 2 Avatars and the dragon Dawnseeker Unlocked.
