Xbox will be hosting the first digital exclusive premiere of the new upcoming Metro 2039. In partnership with developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver, the Xbox First Look: Metro 2039 presentation will go live Thursday, April 16, at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK.
Metro 2039 will be the fourth major instalment in the long running series, based off the novels by author Dmitry Glukhovsky. The first game was Metro 2033 and it released back in 2010, which was followed by Metro: Last Light in 2013, and Metro Exodus in 2019.
This first look will reveal the much speculated setting of Metro 2039
“Journey into the dark heart of post-apocalyptic Moscow in a harrowing conflict for the very soul of the Metro,” teases Xbox on the YouTube premiere page. The last game (Metro Exodus) had events taking place away from the series’ usual haunts deep down in the Moscow underground tunnels, and it also adopted an open level design whereas the two earlier entries were much more linear.
