Activision released the minimum PC specifications for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare last week, and now they've followed it up with the recommended specs. Hope you've got a spare 55GB on your hard drive, because that's what you'll need to install the game. Along with a reasonably beefy system.
This story keeps getting stranger. Former New York mayor and current US attorney Rudy Giuliani will serve as co-counsel for Activision's defence against the lawsuit leveled by former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega over his appearance in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Giuliani issued a prepared statement saying; "What's astonishing is that Manuel Noriega, a notorious dictator who is in prison for the heinous crimes he committed, is upset about being portrayed as a criminal and enemy of the state in the game Call of Duty. Quite simply, it's absurd."
Sledgehammer Games’ co-founder Glen Schofield has claimed that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's solo campaign will be longer than other titles in the series. Asked about campaign length by a user on Twitter, Schofield replied; "Coming in longer than the last few." Though considering you can blast through your typical CoD story in around five hours or so, maybe we shouldn't get too excited just yet.
Retail research firm Sterne Agee is predicting that Sledgehammer's franchise debut Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will not sell as well as previous entry Call of Duty: Ghosts. Activision's recently released Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has knocked Halo 3 right out of the top spot for this weeks most played Xbox Live titles. Halo 3 is now in second position, with Guitar Hero 3 being 3rd and Gears of War coming in 4th position.
Activision has announced plans to release new content for Call of Duty 4 in the form of downloadable multiplayer maps. These new maps will be available to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions and will thrust gamers into a hot zone of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales.
Now having been officially announced by Activision, Call of Duty 5 will be hitting the PC and the next-gen consoles, Xbox360 & PS3, but there are also plans for PS2, DS and Wii versions. In development by Treyarch studios, this latest title in the series will not be seeing any more gritty modern warfare but revisiting the franchises roots back in World War II. Activision plan a release sometime before the end of March 31st, 2009.
The Community Manager for Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling, has revealed that Sony is currently in the final stages of certifying the PS3 Feature patch for Call of Duty 4, and users should expect to see it sometime this week.
Robert Bowling, aka fourzerotwo, has announced that the PS3 version of the feature patch for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is now certified. The patch tweaks a number of things like greater accuracy for the ACOG and sniper rifle, and host migration which keeps the players together as the system selects a suitable replacement.
According to the publisher's calculations from NPD software sales numbers, Modern Warfare has sold a whooping nine million since it's November launch. Infinity Ward have done tremendous work in the eyes of the press and gamers, many don't seem that surprised their game has sold so many so quickly.
According to Next-Gen, an ex-Activision employee from the recently death knelled Underground studio says Infinity Ward has entered re-negotiations to claim the franchise back. Currently it alternates between Infinity and Treyarch but they'd like to keep their creation much closer to home.
The publisher is quick to discredit the rumour of Infinity Ward looking to hold sole development rights to the franchise. They're adament that both Infinity Ward and Treyarch will be onboard. The rumours spread from an ex-Activision employee of Underground Development which is scheduled to close.
They released the announcement during a conference call, where they were happily posting their financial results. No news whether Infinity Ward or Treyarch are handling the game but the latter is working on the new James Bond game, which will use the COD4 engine.

The first details on Call of Duty 5: World at War have been revealed by a UK magazine called gamesTM. The issue which was published today claims that the game is going to be grittier, have scarier enemies with new tactics and contain co-op modes.
