BioWare has revealed the Mass Effect 3 demo on Xbox 360 will be open to all members of Xbox Live as it includes a "limited time Gold access when you download the demo." A gamer has revealed that he purchased downloadable content for Mass Effect 3 from US videogame retailer GameStop, and has the receipt to prove it. Despite the game not being available til 6th March, the gamer was able to purchase a DLC pack titled "From Dust" (not to be confused with the UbiSoft god game of the same name) for $9.99.

Electronic Arts is breaking its own street date on Mass Effect 3 in the strangest way: it's launching some copies into space, strapped onto weather balloons. The bizarre promotion has balloons launched from New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris, flying high into the stratosphere. Each of the balloons are equipped with a GPS tracking device, which allows fans to follow their progress.
