Publisher Square Enix has reported a huge drop in sales and earnings for the nine months leading to December 31st. Profits fell sharply by 76.6 percent. The good news is that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 each managed over a million sales during those three quarters.

Japanese servers shut to 'conserve' News

Square Enix and the PlayOnline service have switched off their multiplayer server farms in order to save what power they can in Japan following the quakes. Final Fantasy XIV's buggy launch forced Square-Enix to drop subscription fees til the game was properly fixed. The game's servers were offline during the Japanese 8.9 earthquake, and only recently resumed play, still free-to-play. Square-Enix is reporting that the resumption of subscription fees aren't beginning anytime soon.
