The videogame market in the UK has not been a pretty sight, and the trend has continued in February 2012 where the market saw a 29% drop in sales in a year-to-year comparison with February 2011. 2.3M games were sold for £55m last month. Final Fantasy XIII-2 ruled the roost in the slow month, while Battlefield 3 finally overtook Modern Warfare 3 in chart position. Electronic Arts accounted for 3 of the top 10 sellers.

Square-Enix seems to be prepping for more inter-company crossover downloadable content, as Famitsu is reporting that Mass Effect-themed DLC will be coming to Final Fantasy XIII-2. According to the Japanese magazine, FF13-2 heroes Serah and Noel will be getting new outfits based on the BioWare roleplaying game. While nothing specific has been revealed, it's a sure bet at least one of the items will be a set of N7 armor.

The house of Square Enix has reportedly terminated work on Final Fantasy Versus XIII six years after the game was first announced back in May '06. Little has been seen of it since then. A source reveals Square are reluctant to openly admit the canning so to avoid a stock hit. Resources are allegedly being retasked for Final Fantasy XV. Square refused comment.
