A Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 player has reset their player stats after suffering a torrent of abuse and DDoS attacks from somewhere within the US. He couldn't stay on Xbox Live more than 10 minutes. The player known as Retrominano sent a message of the problem to a friend before shortly confirming via Reddit he had reset his stats to hopefully avoid the continued harassment.

UK chart led by FIFA 13, top five titles enjoy encore News

EA Sports' FIFA 13 has kept itself atop the UK all format chart for the sixth week, and its second time in 2013. The top five titles in fact haven't changed, leaving Far Cry 2 in second place. Ubisoft's island shooter is followed by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in third, Hitman: Absolution fourth and Need for Speed: Most Wanted fifth. Just Dance 4 bopped it around Halo 4 taking sixth.

EA Sports' FIFA franchise first to pass £1bn in UK retail market News

It has been announced through Chart-Track that the FIFA franchise is the first video game series to collectively attain £1bn at UK retail. It did so spread across 40 released FIFA titles. FIFA 12 and FIFA 13 alone contributed around £200m to the staggering figure. The second and third top video game grossing properties are Call of Duty and Mario respectively.

Black Ops 2, Xbox 360 lead US sales in January News

The NPD Group has revealed the top selling games for January 2013, which was led by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, continuing its domination of the market. Furthermore, the Xbox 360 led for the 25th straight month with 281,000 unit sales. Neither Sony nor Nintendo revealed their hardware sales for January, however.

Treyarch has released a new and rather weighty title update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, addressing a multitude of multiplayer issues on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Zombies get a good work over too. This weekend is a freebie weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 as Steam users get to play its multiplayer for absolutely nothing, announces Valve. The game itself is also discounted 33%. For those who do own Treyarch's latest, there's also a Double XP session across all platforms until Monday. With the discount Black Ops 2 is brought down to £26.79 in the UK.

Infinity Ward release shot of Xi3 micro PC bearing studio's logo News

Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward has released a shot of a Xi3 micro PC that's partially funded by Valve, and which was unveiled back in January at CES. IW posted the image on Facebook and Twitter. The studio didn't elaborate much beyond the images, other than asking 'what's this?' via Twitter and writing 'game development' on Facebook. Xi3 is powered by Steam software.
