After an endless amount of rumours, THQ has confirmed that it will be delaying the release of Darksiders II from June to August 2012. Although it's only a short delay, THQ says that it allows "additional time for polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting."

THQ rallying to avoid NASDAQ delisting News

THQ has begun to rally to increase its stock value to prevent its delisting from NASDAQ. The publisher must trade above $0.99/share for ten consecutive days before the 23rd July. The company's stocks have been surging, reaching $0.67 thanks in no small part to Saints Row: The Third and its downloadable content sales. According to THQ, the game sold 4M copies, surpassing the company's expectations. The stock had hit a lot of $0.45 last 17th April.

Darksiders II gets 14th August release date News

THQ has revealed that their third person action title Darksiders II will be hitting retail on the 14th August. The publisher is also encouraged by preorder figures, as CEO Brian Farrell stated that pre-sales are up 500% in the same period of time as the original title.

Vigil was "punching above our weight" with Darksiders, wanted more NPCs News

In our interview with Vigil Games' lead designer Haydn Dalton he admitted the studio felt like they were "punching above" their weight with just 65 devs on staff tackling Darksiders' scope. Still it was fun for the team, and the world agreed lauding it. Dalton admits it felt "shallow" with so few NPCs to feed the player. Vigil had time to correct that for Darksiders 2.

Darksiders II features The Crucible, offers 100 challenge stages News

Vigil Games have revealed The Crucible for Darksiders II which lets gamers take on about 100 challenge stages which unlock progressively throughout the story campaign. Death earns rewards along the way after every five completed. The in-game message service occasional unlocks more. Also New Game+ is in with XP and loot intact.
