Treyarch are marking the occasion of more map pack DLC for PS3 and PC Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 with a "Double Weapon XP" weekend spectacular, which officially begins May 17th and ends on the 20th. The 16th heralds the release of the Uprising DLC for PS3 and PC, ending the platform exclusivity. While the message was only spotted on Xbox 360, double XP weekends go multi-platform.
The NPD group has released figures for the US sales from the 4th April through to the 7th May. The Xbox 360 led console sales, with 130K units sold. Sony and Nintendo declined to reveal their unit sales, though reportedly, the Wii U sold 55K units, 20K less than the Wii.
Tomorrow Call of Duty fans will be getting a serious gameplay reveal for Call of Duty: Ghosts at Microsoft's special next-gen Xbox event. Activision, not content to leave well enough alone, posts a teaser. It's a mere 6 seconds and flashes through some of tomorrow's showcasing, which apparently will involve some wireframe shots of the next game. Call of Duty: Ghosts is out November 5th.
Activision has unveiled the new story trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts which debuted at Microsoft's Xbox One reveal event. Developer Infinity Ward showed off the impressive tech that would be going into the PC and next-gen console of the trailer, as well as a Fable-like companion dog.

The next Call of Duty is subtitled Ghosts and is now available to pre-purchase on Steam, for a hefty £44.99 / $59.99. The product listing has been updated and it confirms "user-initiated events" in multiplayer. They also mention floods and earthquakes that can "fundamentally alter the flow and strategy" of matches. Activision also teases an exclusive weapon camo pre-order from Gamestop.

A user at Reddit has allegedly spotted a promotion for a new "Vengeance" downloadable content map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Earlier, a downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 called Vengeance was tipped off by promotion material for a retail store. Now, Activision has officially confirmed the DLC, which will be heading to Xbox 360 on the 2nd July, and PC and PlayStation 3 later in the month.

The black magic that is netcode for Call of Duty decides the match-making fate of millions. It's been revealed that not much is changing with Call of Duty: Ghosts, but they are 'tweaking' bits and pieces to improve the service. Who they "choose to compensate and why" for lag is what's changing. Treyarch picked players and hosts by geographical proximity with Black Ops 2, but that didn't end problems.
In response to a fan asking if there's to be any Spec Ops in Call of Duty: Ghosts, an Infinity Ward dev responds that there'll be a "cooperative mode of sort," but the studio isn't announcing anything about it yet. Community coordinator Candice Capen doesn't know "when/if" this new co-op will be revealed. This confirms rumours Modern Warfare's Spec Ops has been dropped.

What's in August? That would be Gamescom in Germany which runs August 21-25. Activision must be feeling the heat from Battlefield 4's online shenanigans to talk multiplayer early.
