Psyonix announces free Mutators DLC for Rocket League with a new trailer News

Psyonix has announced a new, free downloadable content pack for their car combat/sports game Rocket League for November. The DLC pack is called "Mutators", and will include classic gameplay and new power-ups. The Mutators DLC features a low-gravity "Moonball" mode, as well as game modes from the game's predecessor Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars game modes, including "Cubic" and "Time Warp”. A special playlist, "Mutator Mashup," will mix the new and old gameplay modes into a single list.

Psyonix is cooking up some free DLC to celebrate Halloween later this month, consisting of a bunch of customisation options for your Rocket League cars. "Available as post-match item drops, each Halloween item can be unlocked simply by playing matches like you normally would (win or lose!)," explains the team. "Once you've found an item, it's yours to keep forever, but if you don't find the ones you want by November 2, you'll have to wait until next year for a shot at them again."

Steam Sections coming to major videogame retailers this November News

Major videogame brick-and-mortar retailers GAME UK, GameStop, EB Games, and Valve have announced that the stores will be including special "Steam Sections" dedicated to selling Valve's upcoming hardware coming 10th November 2015. The hardware will include the Steam Controller, Steam Link, and Steam Machines. The sections will of course also include a variety of Steam prepaid cards, which most stores already sell.

Patch 1.05 for Rocket League has gone live today, introducing an option for PC players to filter out PS4 players in multiplayer match-ups, multiple improvements and adjustments to the Utopia Coliseum arena, and the introduction of Season One Ranked play. It's by no means a colossal update, but those who want a more competitive experience from the car football game will be happy to see new Ranked Season Divisions with post-Season Division placement rewards.

It'll drop alongside a free update that will add a Spectator Mode, alongside the usual bunch of fixes and tweaks. The Supersonic Fury DLC will set you back $3.99/ €3.99, and adds two new vehicles; the Dominus, which looks like a typical American muscle car, and Takumi, a jazzed-up Japanese street racer.
