The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited's next DLC pack will take players to the orcish capital city of Orsinium, in the snowy Wrothgar Mountains, for what ZeniMax Online Studios is calling its largest game pack to date. Included in the DLC will be a brand new zone to explore, new quests and mysteries, a new singleplayer arena, new public dungeons, and more.

The team behind ambitious Morrowind-to-Skyrim mod Skywind has been reaching out to its fan community in order to find voice actors to read the huge amount of NPC dialogue in the game, and it's shown off some of the results in a recent blog post. Judging by some brief sample videos like the one embedded below, it's some very impressive work. I've played dozens of retail games with way worse voice acting than this.
The Imperial City DLC is now available for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, giving players a chance to return to the city they once visited in Oblivion. It's not quite as welcoming this time. Daedric lord Molag Bal has overrun the city, and players mst team up to take it back. Expect new missions, loot, new Veteran Ranks and more.
GOG.com has teamed up with Bethesda Softworks to add a bunch of the publisher's classic titles to its retail library. In addition to three venerable Elder Scrolls RPGs, you'll also be able to pick up the original Fallout and Doom games.
Another month goes by, and another impressive slice of gameplay footage is released by the Skywind mod team, currently hard at work on their Morrowind-to-Skyrim conversion. Videos like this are a bit of a nostalgia rush for me - look, there's the Red Mountain, there's Azura's Coast, oh god there's one of those hideous parastic worms. I'd almost forgotten just how alien and strange the world of Morrowind is. I'd almost wish we'd head back there in the next Elder Scrolls game, but on second thought it's probably time for something new. Anyway, if Bethesda did decide to revisit, that would kind of undermine the astonishing amount of work put into this mod, wouldn't it?
I slightly lose track of all the mods and total conversions out there in development, so it's nice to be reminded every once in a while just how creative the modding community is. Take Skyrim mod Enderal: The Shards of Order, for example. A new trailer has just been released for the sequel to Oblivion conversion Nehrim: At Fates Edge, and it's looking absolutely terrific.
Fallout 4 might be on the horizon, but you shouldn't expect to see an entry in Bethesda's other flagship open world RPG series for quite some time yet. The company's PR and marketing head Pete Hines explained as much in a chat with Dualshockers during Gamescom, saying that it would be a “very long time” until we see anything regarding The Elder Scrolls 6.
Bizarrely, Bethesda’s fantasy epic Skyrim once features mourning and haunting mechanics for NPCs, meaning that a slaughtered civilian could come back as spectre and follow their relatives around. This only worked for one NPC in the entire game world, and not at all for high-profile characters. For whatever reason, Bethesda eventually binned the systems, but modder Vagonumero12 over on Nexus Mods has restored the cut content. Here’s what’s been added:
It's not just the Skywind guys that are busy creating a huge total conversion for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, there's also a massive fan project to recreate 2006's Oblivion in the game's Creation engine. In fact, the 'Skyblivion' team has just released a fairly colossal 45-minute gameplay trailer, showing a lot of riding around on a horse, through some admittedly very pretty environments.
Free-to-play MMO The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is expanding by the end of August with developer ZeniMax Online's announced first DLC pack 'Imperial City'. It features the "heart of the Cyrodiilic Empire" and it's in big-time trouble as Daedric Prince Molag Bal has conquered it. New quests, enemies, characters, loots and exclusive collectibles are all lined up.
As much fun as Bethesda's 2011 fantasy epic Skyrim was, it's impossible to deny that the game contained more than a few bugs. Fortunately, the developer promises that lessons learned during its development will be used to improve the upcoming Fallout 4.
Bethesda are working on a digital card game set in the Elder Scrolls universe, which looks to be the publisher's answer to Blizzard's Hearthstone success. Called The Elder Scrolls Legends, it will be a free-to-play title that is expected to be released later this year for the iPad and PC.
Anyone who's played Morrowind remembers the village of Seyda Neen, right? There's that annoying wood elf. And of of those massive crab-flea things you can ride about on. The swampy hellhole that greets you as you enter the game's distinctly unusual fantasy universe has been lovingly recreated by the team behind ambitious mod Skywind. Skywind, you might remember, converts the entirety of Morrowind into Skyrim's much fancier engine. It's been in the works a long time, but slowly and surely the project's inching towards completion.
Keeping good on the promise it made last week, Zenimax Online is deactivating fraudulently obtained digital keys for its MMO The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. In a forum post the developer revealed a list of verified retailers across all regions – anyone buying from a site not found on that list runs the risk of having their game account closed.
Galactic Civilizations 3 lead designer Paul Boyer has said choosing Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as the 'flagship title' for the new integrated market for selling mods was "a poor choice" given its established community of creators. In our interview on the space 4X, he says it 'understandably upset' people. Overall a market for purchasing mods would be "great for the game industry." It would need a new game to work.
Here, have a new trailer for the increasingly lovely-looking Skywind, the fan-made mod that transports The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind into Skyrim. Work on the mod continues to chug along nicely, though the mod team over at The Elder Scrolls Renewal Project are still looking for contributors to provide everything from music to voice acting, textures and quest writing.
Bethesda together with Zenimax Online have today announced that The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, is now available on PC and Mac. Tamriel Unlimited marks the foray of the The Elder Scrolls Online into free-to-play territory, meaning that anybody who fancies a go at the game without plonking down any money can do just that.
Get your Pip-boys ready because Bethesda is gearing up for their "first-ever" dedicated press conference at this year's E3 in Los Angeles, California. What's on the agenda for the RPG and shooter outfit? Nobody knows! Not yet at least, but the coming months should reveal more about Bethesda's plans for E3. An online Twitch stream will be running on the day. Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein, Doom...
All that clutter in your backpack is about to get a significant spring clean, thanks to Update 6 for The Elder Scrolls Online. The dev team has decided to implement a Collections System, but what does that mean? It means items considered as 'collectibles', like pets and mounts, won't be stuff in your backpack any more. Instead they'll have their own section with "easy access" without lugging them around.
You'll be able to find out for yourself if crime does indeed pay when Update 6 for The Elder Scrolls Online launches early this year - the focus is firmly on the less heroic side of adventuring. A new Justice system will finally allow you to indulge your criminal side, looting NPCs and stores, murdering citizens and beating up mouthy peasants. Of course, if you get caught doing any of these things the consequences can be unpleasant.
