Final Fantasy XIV's New Raid Cleared In Just 3 Days News

After just 3 days in the field, Final Fantasy XIV's final main-tier raid of the Heavensward expansion has been quelled. Though purposely tuned to be slightly easier than the two tiers before it - thanks to groups either giving up or never clearing the harder skirmishes - the finale to the Alexander 8-man raid didn't survive the week.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.4 'Soul Surrender' Is Now Live News

Assuming maintenance hasn't been extended, the newest major expansion for Square Enix's huge MMORPG is now live, bringing a new wave of 'x World First Clear' forum posts and Twitter announcements back into the spotlight. Patch 3.4 will, essentially, usher in the start of the main story leading into the expansion expected to be announced next month in Las Vegas. The content update sees the end of the 3-tier raid scenario 'Alexander' with 'The Creator' bringing 4 new bosses in both story and 'Savage' difficulty alongside another side-story monstrosity with Sophia - the second of the Waring Triad pulled from Final Fantasy VI following Sephirot in patch 3.2. Of course, there's 2 new dungeons for players to run for a new kind of currency used to buy the newest gear.

Square Enix Trademarks Mysterious 'STORMBLOOD' Name - Clues Point to the next Final Fantasy XIV Expansion News

Keen-eyed Square Enix fans have swarmed over the news of the company trademarking the ambiguous title of 'Stormblood' without any clear indication as to what the acquired wording could possibly relate to. Of course, it's possible Stormblood is the title of a yet unannounced video game; but whether it's a brand new title or purely the name given to a DLC pack, or subtitle for a currently established game is also on the table.

With it came a lengthy trailer showcasing additions like player apartments, new dungeons and aquariums used to show off your favorite underwater denizens fished up from around Eorzea to name a few.

Final Fantasy XIV Is Now At Its Most Inviting News

Just like Final Fantasy XI before it, Final Fantasy XIV has been out in the open for a while now. The ever expanding MMO is constantly moving forward to keep its player base interested in sticking around and tossing it 9 bucks a month for the pleasure. But what happens to the prospects of growing an audience when anyone interested in joining gets turned off at the though of cramming in the time to catch up with the rest? Chasing after those who've pressed on for years with each major content patch can feel like a chore when you're left alone.

New Final Fantasy 14 expansion to be revealed in October News

Naoki Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy 14, has confirmed the next expansion for the game will be announced in October at Fan Festival (which takes place in Las Vegas). This information was revealed by Japanese website Game Watch (surprisingly, this website has nothing to do with us) in an interview with Yoshida. The interview spoke about upcoming patches to the game, as well as where the story may go now that the Dragonsong War has ended. “I believe that we’ll see the big changes starting with Patch 3.5,” Yoshida said. “Similar to what we had in Patch 2.5 and 2.55, which I believe was a big pivot.” Final Fantasy 14 players shouldn’t expect to leave Ishgard too soon, according to Yoshida, “If anything, I believe they [Ishgard] will be more involved with the Warrior of Light and the Scions, who helped end the war.”
