Publisher and developer Slitherine has announced that World War II wargame Battleplan has locked in its release date to mid-July.
In less than a month, we’ll get to take control of the Allied forces and lead them into some of the conflict’s biggest battles. Battleplan “simulates massive month-long battles with hundreds of thousands of troops second by second, day by day,” but rather than guiding individual units, we draw high-level orders on a map before watching things unfurl.
Battleplan Gets Mid-July Release Date
These “multi-step and multi-unit plans” let us employ a variety of different tactics, from defence in depth and counterattacks to planned withdrawals and preparatory bombardments, adapting to shifting conditions.
Battleplan gives us control over the composition of our armies, allowing us to customize their entire chain of command, but also combine divisions into corps and split units down to companies.
Supply lines play a key role in its real-time battles, while its sprawling battlefields are built using real-world geographic data.
At launch, Battleplan promises more than 10 large-scale battles taking place during the late stage of World War II, post-1944, on the Western Front.
Battleplan’s release date announcement was accompanied by a trailer that shows the wargame in action. The title is slated to go live on PC, via Steam, Gog.com, and the Epic Games Store, on July 14, 2026.
