Shipping first and patching later is becoming more and more the norm instead of the exception. Recent stories indicate that both Fable 2, by Microsoft Game Studio, and LittleBigPlanet, by Sony will both ship without some of the features promised by developers.
The official MGS blog, Gamerscore, said recently that Fable 2 ”will be able to play the single player and local co-op on day one, they are still making tweaks to the online co-op. Don’t worry, it is definitely still coming”. The blog post also adds that they expect to patch the game the first week after release to include the online co-op play.
Meanwhile, Sony developers on their official blog have also stated that the online co-operative Create mode for LittleBigPlanet will also not be included in the release version of the game but that they expect to add it in with “the first game update after launch.”
Both titles are scheduled for release in October 2008
