According to a preview on Czech website Hratelne.cz, and thanks to the translation of one Eidos forum poster, the game has its veil lifted a little.
They report that Eidos Montreal openly love the whole BioShock atmosphere, it’ll have femme fatales, an apartment to call home, squad-based AI, bosses, and heck of a lot more.
Deus Ex 3 is set as a prequel to the first game and has you take the role of Adam Jensen. After a black ops raid on the research labs he works at, he goes in search of answers to find out who did it and why.
To help you feel better attached to Adam, players will have the chance to revisit his apartment where over time it will presumably fill up with more information and some souvenirs from your journeys.
Implants will still be headlining the general gameplay but combat itself is more skill-based and lively with a cover system included. Adam may even cross some rather alluring ladies in his travels who may want to work their charms on him for pleasure or even betrayal.
AI will on occasion have a team leader that if you manage to take out first, the rest of the team will fall into disarray and become easier to pick off. NPC’s will also feature facial clues that can help you understand what their mood is and what’s likely to be their reaction to dialogue choices.
The game will take place in several major known cities around the globe including Shanghai, Detroit and even Montreal - home to the Eidos development team.
Deus Ex 3 is being released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC with no release date confirmed yet.
