Total War developer Creative Assembly will be launching a story-driven Total War around the life of Napoleon in three separate campaigns, with the chance to rewrite history.
It includes his time in Italy, Egypt, on his way to Moscow and finally crossing paths with the Duke of Wellington at The Battle of Waterloo. Creative promise it’s ”a step further” than Empire.
”In Napoleon: Total War you get to actually be Napoleon - to face the problems he faced, to win the battles he won, and to build the Empire he built. Or better,” noted Creative Assembly’s Mike Simpson.
”However, the game allows you to step in the shoes of his opposing generals as well, allowing the player to rewrite history as they see fit.” The new game will have the features of Empire: Total War, including full naval battles, and take them ”a step further.”
”The seamless mix of objective-based missions and sandbox experience makes this the most complete Total War experience to date,” says Sega and Creative’s press release.
Napoleon: Total War is being released on PC in February 2010. The development of this new title won’t affect the work still ongoing for Empire: Total War, with patch 1.4 due soon.
