The next multiplayer FPS in the WW1 series, Gallipoli, is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Moreover, it’s launching with full crossplay support and a substantial content roadmap in place.
After a delay earlier this year, BlackMill Games locked an August 20 release date for Gallipoli, and we can now confirm it hasn’t been pushed again. In fact, Gallipoli is live already, and players are jumping in as we speak.
Like previous WW1 games, Gallipoli focuses on a specific front of the conflict. It’s now time to experience the often overlooked Gallipoli campaign alongside the “wider Ottoman Fronts”. In this FPS, the British Empire and Ottoman forces clash in 25v25 squad-based battles across five maps at launch: “the contested landings of ANZAC Cove and V Beach, the sun-baked desert surrounding Ctesiphon, the battered town of Kut al-Amara, and the moonlit canal of the newly revealed Suez.”
The ten player classes are based on historical roles like Officer, Heavy Machine Gunner, and even Stretcher Bearer. But of course, WW1’s special sauce remains the realistic weapon handling, a unique procedural reload system, and pieces of equipment that reflect grounded battles that maybe aren’t as well-known as other large confrontations.
Beyond today’s launch, “Gallipoli will be supported with updates for several years”. BlackMill Games has even shared a meaty roadmap for what’s to come:
Gallipoli is out now with full crossplay on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store & Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The price tag is €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99, with up to 25% launch discounts available for a limited time.
