Microsoft and Bungie’s Halo 3: ODST has taken the top spot in the UK All Formats chart, and has become the twelfth to achieve a big performance week one on a single-platform.
Its predecessor, Halo 3, currently holds the fourth position for biggest week one seller. 64 percent of ODST’s week one sales were within the first 24 hours. NCsoft’s Aion misses Top Ten.
It’s unfortunate that Halo 3: ODST’s launch hasn’t been without complication for some users, with complaints of disc read errors leading Bungie to delve into an investigation of the problem.
Other big time platform Kings have been Grand Theft Auto IV on both Xbox 360 and PS3, with GTA: San Andreas for PS2 before Rockstar’s latest. PC MMO Aion misses the Top Ten but does manage to claim 11th place. Newcomer Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 makes it to 7.
