3D in Capcom games 'technologically possible', starts up research

Capcom has said that any decision of 3D in their future games will come from a ”strategic perspective”, and admit they could make them now.

From a ”technological standpoint” they could make 3D games now, but they’re only just ”prepared to start research” on some possible titles.

”We can produce 3D games now from a technological standpoint. Although we are prepared to start research involving some titles, our decision about adding 3D to games will be made from a strategic perspective,” said Capcom, reports VideoGamer.com.

This was stated during their Q3 Q&A conference call. Capcom has already played with 3D technology by including support for Nvidia’s GeForce 3D Vision with Resident Evil 5 on PC. Sony is very keen to push the third dimension for this year on PS3.
