Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a single player and PvP racing game from Fuse Games that launches Oct. 6, 2026, and despite the Switch 2’s growing library of current-generation games, there hasn’t been an official announcement of a Nintendo version. Here’s what we do know.
Are There Any Plans to Port Galactic Racer to Switch 2?
As of September 2026, Star Wars: Galactic Racer isn’t confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2. Fuse Games’ recent developer interviews have focused on the game’s racing systems, story campaign, multiplayer, vehicles and post-launch plans, without confirming nor denying another platform.
There’s also the question of Galactic Racer’s technical ambitions; it’s made in Unreal Engine 5, which is considered a tricky engine to port over to Switch 2. However, during June’s State of Unreal event when version 5.8 of the game engine was revealed, Unreal Engine’s VP of Engineering Simon Tourangeau said that this latest update “is designed to preserve much of the visual impact at a significantly lower GPU cost” and how “that work is already helping drive further nanite optimization efforts for the platform [Switch 2].”
In short, it’s not as hard to make a new Unreal Engine game run well on Switch 2 as it used to be. There are quite a few recent UE5 games that do work on Nintendo’s handheld, including Oblivion Remastered, Split Fiction, and Cronos: The New Dawn, so it’s not unreasonable to believe Star Wars: Galactic Racer could also run well on Switch 2.
Could Star Wars: Galactic Racer Come to Switch 2 Later?
Given that Galactic Racer is Fuse Games’ first title, the developer doesn’t have an established history of bringing previous titles to Nintendo hardware that would provide a clear indication of its plans for Switch 2.
That’s not to say there isn’t hope, even if a Star Wars: Galactic Racer Switch 2 port ends up being handled by a specialized developer like Aspyr, who brought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and other classics to Switch consoles. Looking at recent heavyweight ports like Star Wars Outlaws, we’re also confident other modern Star Wars releases could make the jump to Switch 2.
For now, Switch 2 owners should therefore consider Star Wars: Galactic Racer unconfirmed rather than cancelled or announced for the platform. The game is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on Oct. 6, 2026.
